Generate /give commands for any of the 8 goat horn instruments in Minecraft. Each horn plays a unique sound audible up to 256 blocks away, with a 7-second cooldown between uses. Pick a variant, set the target and count, and copy the command.
Goat horns were added in Minecraft 1.19 (The Wild Update) and serve as a musical signal item. They produce distinct, loud sounds that carry across enormous distances, 256 blocks to be exact. The sound is so loud that it mimics raid horn blasts, and two of the eight instruments (Call and Dream) actually reuse the pillager raid horn sound.
Getting all 8 variants in survival requires patience. Regular goats only drop 4 of the 8 horns, and the other 4 come exclusively from screaming goats, which have a 2 percent natural spawn rate. This generator lets you skip the farming and get the exact horn you want.
1. Select the instrument: choose from all 8 goat horn types, Ponder through Dream.
2. Set the target: pick who receives the horn (@s, @p, @a, or a player name) and the count.
3. Copy the command and paste it into your Minecraft chat or a command block.
Every goat horn shares the same 256-block range and 7-second use duration. The difference is the sound each one makes and how you obtain it in survival:
| Horn | ID | Goat Type | Sound Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ponder | ponder_goat_horn | Regular | Low, contemplative tone |
| Sing | sing_goat_horn | Regular | Melodic, rising pitch |
| Seek | seek_goat_horn | Regular | Alert, searching call |
| Feel | feel_goat_horn | Regular | Warm, resonant horn |
| Admire | admire_goat_horn | Screaming | Triumphant fanfare |
| Call | call_goat_horn | Screaming | Raid horn sound |
| Yearn | yearn_goat_horn | Screaming | Longing, drawn-out call |
| Dream | dream_goat_horn | Screaming | Raid horn variant |
Screaming goats look identical to regular goats but have a 2 percent chance of spawning naturally. They ram more frequently, which actually makes them more productive for horn farming. A goat can drop up to 2 horns total, one from each horn slot on its head.
There are 8 goat horn instruments: Ponder, Sing, Seek, Feel, Admire, Call, Yearn, and Dream. Each plays a unique sound that can be heard up to 256 blocks away. All 8 have a use duration of 7 seconds before they can be used again.
Goats drop horns when they ram into solid blocks like stone, copper ore, iron ore, emerald ore, logs, or packed ice. Regular goats drop Ponder, Sing, Seek, and Feel horns, while screaming goats drop Admire, Call, Yearn, and Dream. Screaming goats are rare variants with a 2 percent natural spawn rate.
All 8 goat horn instruments have a sound range of 256 blocks, making them audible from extremely far away. This is the same range as the /say command and lightning strikes.
Use /give with the instrument component, for example /give @s minecraft:goat_horn[instrument="minecraft:seek_goat_horn"] 1. Swap the instrument id for any of the 8 variants to get the horn you want.
