More Details: Spinkour used to be a parkour server, but after 7 years it closed forever. Now, some of the courses have been revamped, and 6 of Spinkour's courses are available as a downloadable map. The map is meant to be played in 1.15.2, as that is the last version the server ran in, and the last version all the jumps were tested in. There are 6 different parkour courses on the map for you to try. 4 of them are solo courses you can do by yourself in singleplayer, or in a party if you upload the map to a server. 2 of the courses are designed to be CoOp, so they can only be done on a server. Oddly enough the CoOp courses cannot be joined while in a party. These courses are designed to force at least 2 people to help each other complete every checkpoint without the benefits of a party.
-------------------------------
Yellow Course: (Solo/Party course) (20 sections long with 19 checkpoints) This is an easy level course. It's recommended that you test yourself here before trying one of the difficult courses. Despite being an easy level course, you'll find a few trolls along the way.
Blue & Orange Courses: (Solo/Party courses) (20 sections long with 19 checkpoints) These are difficult level courses. There are no medium level courses, so the difficulty really ramps up compared to the Yellow course. You will fail a lot.
Red Course: (CoOp) (20 sections long with 19 checkpoints) This course is an easy level course. If you have a friend who is bad at parkour, this is the course for them. It requires one person to be running the course, while another person helps them from the relative safety of a viewing pathway. The person on the course will need their friends help on every single checkpoint to have a chance at advancing. Good communication will be key.
Green Course: (CoOp) (20 sections long with 19 checkpoints) This is a difficult level course. If your friend isn't very good at parkour, get a new friend because you won't stand much of a chance. Every checkpoint will require you to help each other to advance. This course has a number of puzzles along the way, so not only will you have some difficult jumps to make, but you'll need your thinking caps.
Christmas Course: (Solo/Party courses) (12 sections long with 11 checkpoints) This is a difficult level course, even if it is a bit shorter. What makes this course different is that it's decorated from start to finish with seasonal goodness. If you look around enough, you'll be able to discover a number of Easter Eggs hidden along the way.
Viewing Paths: Each course has it's own viewing pathway. Just in case you have friends who want to watch you suffer, while avoiding any suffering of their own. The viewing path for the Red Course actually allows viewers to interact with the people on the course & help them. All the other viewing paths are strictly for watching.
-------------------------------
Joining Courses & General Course Info: To join a course you simply walk over to the wall in from of spawn, and click the button for whatever course you want. All courses (except the Christmas Course) have 20 sections & 19 checkpoints. Checkpoints will always be golden pressure plates. You might see other types of pressure plates on the course at various times, but only the golden ones save your progress. Viewing Paths are always right next to the courses. To get to those a player will have to walk down the spawn area until they reach the start of the path & then jump on.
Party Info: To create a party with everyone on the map you simply click on the "Party Button" at spawn. Whoever clicks the button becomes the party leader. To disband the party, you simply click the "Party Button" again. Whoever is the party leader can join a course, and everyone else will join with them. The party leader will also have control over certain things like skips & restarting (see Parkour Tools). The big advantage of being in a party is that it only takes one person in the party to reach a checkpoint to update EVERYONE'S checkpoint in the party. So if your friend does a checkpoint that you're stuck on, don't worry, the next time you die you'll be teleported up to him so you can continue on together.
Parkour Tools: Arrow: This will instantly kill you. So if you get stuck somewhere, you can click it to be teleported back to your most recent checkpoint. You can also use it while you fall into the void to speed up your respawn.
Bone: You can use this to turn players invisible. It very useful when things get a little crowded & difficult to see where you're going.
Noteblock: If you need a little motivation, you can click this to hear some sick beats. Don't worry the song is owned by me, and you don't have to worry about copyright claims. It's the instrumental version of the Spinkour Theme song.
Golden Hoe: If you're stuck on a checkpoint, you can use this item to skip to the next checkpoint. Don't worry, this isn't cheating. After you finish a course, you are scored by how many skips you use. This allows everyone to at least try the entire course, while penalizing those who use skips. So you don't need to worry about how fast you go, or how many deaths you take, the only thing that matters to your final score is the number of skips you use. You're probably thinking, "Then why do you have a death counter on the screen?" That's simple...to humiliate you a bit. Also, the Golden Hoe does not work on the last checkpoint, so you can't skip ALL THE WAY to the end.
Wooden Sword: This item will teleport you back to the start of whatever course you are on, and it will reset your stats. A very handy tool for speed runners.
Leaf Block: This is what you use when you want to leave a course. It's also what you use when you want me to mock you for not finishing my course.
Scoring/How To Win: When you reach the final island, you will see a sign that says, "A Winner Is YOU!" Walk to it, and you will be teleported back to spawn. In chat you will see that you were received a letter grade. Here's how the grade scale works.
0 skips - A 1 skip - B 2 skips - C 3 skips - D 4 skips - F 5 skips or more - We don't waste time grading performances that bad.
Hidden Signs/Secret Words: Each course has 4 hidden signs on it. The hidden signs each have a single letter written on them. The 4 signs on each course spell out a secret word. You don't gain anything from finding them all, but if you like treasure hunts, they can be pretty difficult to spot.
Demotivational Signs/Messages: When I created the Spinkour server, I looked at it as a competition. A competition between myself, and the people doing my parkour. I wanted them to fail & rage. Every time someone quit, it was a victory for me. With this map I have the same outlook. So if you see a sign or message in chat that comes off a bit harsh...it's by design. If it bothers you, you should definitely quit. ;p
Resource Pack: The resource pack for the map should work fine in singleplayer worlds. On some servers you might need to install the resource pack on your own. The only thing the resource pack is for is the tools. If your resource pack isn't working all the tools will look like carrots on a stick. The tools will still work (aside from the Noteblock), but if you want it to look right, I'll leave a download of just the resource pack in the trailer description as well.
Speedruns/Video Tutorials: Over the years a number of people uploaded speed runs of various courses. You can probably find video of most of the jumps being done on the Spinkour website. I've uploaded a number of tutorials over the years myself. The link to the website is in the description of the map trailer.
